Wow, thanks for the great advice! It sounds like I'll likely wind up spending the night in Narita and then flying into SIN the following day... which sucks- would've really loved to have a full day (Sunday) to myself in Singapore!

Anyone every get lucky with an upgrade on JAL? I'm using my VIPOW's to get me to NRT and back... however, there doesn't seem to be a way to upgrade on JAL short of paying for it...
