Assuming you're flying ORD-NRT on AA metal, you arrive at NRT terminal 1. JL uses NRT terminal 2. I wouldn't risk a 2 hour connection at NRT even without a terminal change.

Is there not a later flight in the day from NRT that you could take? Sometimes, however, connections in F or C on the popular travel days are sold out weeks in advance.

The other option is to look at taking JL metal ORD-NRT (AA codeshare, if you want the elite qualifying miles). At least you wouldn't have the terminal change problem.
