I'm trying to buy a ticket from FAI to either London or Manchester in the U.K., and I want all the qualifying miles I can get. (I'm Gold MVP, but it is going to be close this year.)

Delta seems to be the best bet and, of course, I can't book this through the AS Web site since it won't sell me an international ticket to the destinations I need.

On the Delta site, most of the decent options begin with Delta 9062 from FAI to SEA, before heading off to another Delta hub in the Lower 48. 9062 is operated by AS.

BUT, according to the AS partner page, Delta flight 9062 isn't in the range of flight numbers for which I can get AS miles for. That really doesn't mean that I can't get AS miles on flights AS operates, does it? I know I can't get an upgrade, but I want the miles.

Surely I can get miles even though AS won't sell me the ticket?

What am I missing???
