FWIW, I'm on an award booking Friday 23 April from LHR to ORD (it's a MFU from WTP to Club). I called BA today to see if they'd let me cancel, to free up the seat for other passengers trying to rebook.

I was told as the ticket was non-refundable, I'd lose out.

So I'm just going to wait. If I fly, I fly. If the flights cancelled, I'll take the money back.

Shame for BA really, because I'd happily free up the seat for someone of greater need.
