IMO, you didn't miss anything.

Currently evening of night 2 out of 13 at SGS BKK. Apparently I was pre-upgraded to a "Grande Suite" but the previous/current occupant is stuck here waiting to fly to Europe. Just received a call from front desk apologizing (again) and saying that they'll have me in the suite tomorrow. Don't know if they're planning to toss the current occupant or are just overly optimistic about ash dispersion. Regardless, I'll give them half credit for the effort.
