Note that KLM has first hand experience of volcano ash risks at it had a 744 fly thru it in 1989 in Alaska. So one would think they are aware of the risks.

And they are not Russians, so hopefully the Western world would listen more to them...!
Nor should they discuss the matter on the basis of a few flights. If this is still a problem by the end of the week,and KLM has conducted flights all week then their tests would carry a lot more weight. Until we get more data we have to play by the book as it's written right now.
