I was very surprised my self to be honest, as the Sofitel Saigon was USD 149 pr night excl breakfast (only got the free b'fast because of the room upgrade). I know you shouldn't really compare the two hotels I was staying in during my Vietnam as they were directed at different types of guests but the Sofitel Angkor Wat blew me away (the rest of my fellow travellers).

A sofitel night at USD 100 (or even USD 149) is a steal if you think about what a Mercure room will set you back in Paris I know not quite comparable, but still, makes you think...
