Avoid the rest of the airport. It needs to be demolished asap.

Gosh - I'm out on a limb here, I find the newly refurbished and extended LIS absolutely fine. The TP premium check-in and service area is a great plus, and the centralised security inspection makes life much easier for extra-Schengen travel - particularly as the priority queue works well. The airside extension with its new gates mean that many more flights have airbridge connections, and there is loads more space.
As for lounges, the TP one is stylish and well-equipped in terms of food, but it is small and gets VERY crowded - particularly in the weird lavatory/shower provision! A better bet can be the one operated by Portway - the Lisbon Lounge (?). It's bog-standard, but roomy, comfortable and seldom crowded: and you have straightforward, segregated lavatories!
