My advice to the OP is 1) print your BP at home/office or do it on your mobile device, 2) go straight through to security via Priority Lane (sometimes prompting the GTAA agent is required), 3) ask for Standby at MLL or directly at the gate. Worked for me for the first time ever standby for a Rapidair flight. Hassle free.
