Ours is 2yrs and 3mths and she was perfectly happy to sit and watch the cartoons for the bulk of the flight - although she refused to wear the headphones so watched without sound!

My concern with the Maldives for a child is that, at least at Reethi Rah, the water is full of coral. You cut your feet to shreds every time you walk into the sea. This is obviously not good for a child (or adult, for that matter!).
