This is not a "one-size fits all" issue, so I encourage you to get your information from AAdvantage Customer Service directly if you have expired VIP certificates. For example, if you qualified as a new EP member in December but your VIP certificates were issued incorrectly with an expiration date of 1/31/02, by all means return them; they will be replaced with ones that expire in 2003. </font>
So YAV, if two agents in the past had told me I could send them in, and then a particular agent whose name I wrote down gave me the address and said it would be no problem, I should just mail them in and not worry, right? My cover letter has the name of the EXP agent.

I'm going to be really annoyed if I find out now that I should have given the VIPOWs away to friends instead of listening to the EXP desk and getting them extended. If that's the case, I'd like at least 60 days instead of 30 so that I can give two of my remaining VIPOWs to some friends who are flying LHR-ORD in April.

Having said that, I think it's perfectly good sport for AA to say that new VIPOWs being issued recently don't get any extensions beyond the 30 days.
