I am originally from WPG (left when I was in my early 20s). I would also support the areas of Osborne Village and Corydon Avenue (close to "confusion corner"). I have lived in both areas and in fact used to work at the Safeway on the corner of River and Osborne that another poster called a "meet market". I can vouch for that (for both straight and gay) Great area. There is a lot of cultural things to do in the Peg, so make sure you go out and enjoy some of them while you are living there. Good luck.
