Well, Lisa, a lady like you using airplane soap! Face washing no less! The combination of extremely dry airplane air, hard water and harsh soap can cause all sorts of misery.

As I am older than yourself, I carry not only the hand washing towelettes, but a face cleaning product made by Ponds which also comes in towelette form. I know that putting water on your face feels good during a long flight, but you don't know how clean that water is. You may have splashed some nasty germs in your eye!

Talk to your eye doc about the possibility of using some sort of super-tears in your eyes during flights.

The Purelle sort of liquid stuff is very harsh. Yes, I do carry a small bottle as it is handy, but I don't rely on it.

If you must put water on your face, use some Evian. Your face deserves the very best!
