What's in AA Soap, Acid?

I haven't seen a topic on this and I'm starting to get concerned, so I'm asking if anyone else has had a problem after washing their hands or face with the liquid soap on AA planes?

On every trip I have ever taken, on AA metal, I have experienced dry hands to the point of redness with swelling, but couldn't imagine, so I thought it was that their planes had especially dry air or something.

Upon taking no less than 8 trips with them (with countless segs), within just a few months, I started to wonder and asked the FA on my last Euro trip (where I used the soap like 5 times) what the deal was. My fingers were the worst they had ever been (swollen, red, extremely sensitive and painful), and my eyes (which I'd gotten the soap in) were red and hurt as well.

The FA told me it was indeed the soap. That the FAs never use it because it was well known that so many had broken out, even developing rashes, after using it.

And not just with those who had sensitive skin. The FA said she used to work the shampoo bowl at a salon and was used to having chemicals on her hands, but nothing made her break out like the AA soap did.

So, fine, I won't use their soap anymore (perhaps, some of that waterless gel lotion instead), but it took days for the swelling and redness and pain to subside in my hands, with light peeling still occuring.

As for my eyes, my host on my trip noticed that one had become quite distressed (bright red) but I dismissed it, saying it was nothing, just something in it, so they wouldn't think I showed up on their doorstep with pink eye or something. (Isn't that one of the things a host looks for when you arrive, fleas, lice and pink eye?)

Well, my one eye keeps getting too easily irritated (I've used hypo-allergenic mascara, changed mascara and have finally just stopped using it) and I am wondering how long this is going to go on. A doctor's appt is next, but I would like to know what was in that soap, so I can tell him what it was that ate away at my eye. Anyone know?
