My latest AMEX Surpass statement was cut today and in reviewing it online I saw that no bonus points were credited for groceries or gas station purchases, and that the bonus points that were credited for other categories like wireless and drug stores looked goofy.

I called and after 10 minutes of "research" the CSR said they're having problems with bonus point crediting for both the regular HHonors and Surpass cards. She credited me with a point bonus that would easily exceed what they shorted me and assured me that the problem would be fixed by next month's bill.

If you've got a Hilton card I'd advise you to check your latest/next statement and make sure the bonus point calculations pass the smell test. If not, give them a call. They'll fix it. The trail has been blazed.
