AA is now charging $100 change/reissue fee even for STANDBY if you don't fly your exact route. In other words if I buy a direct SJC -> HNL flight, and I want to take an earlier (same day ) SJC -> LAX -> HNL flight, $100 fee applies. You can still standby without fee if the connection cities are exactly the same.
