The received value is VERY bad. We all have specific situations, but it's really not worth it with HH points.

If at all possible, try and do a bunch of single night stays at non-hampton properties for the 500miles/stay double dip.

Or just get the junky Delta Amex.

So, in a perfect world you could do two weekend rentals @$40 each and get at least 10,000 delta miles. 10,000 DL miles converted from HH points would be a staggering 100,000 Hhonors points due to there being a 10:1 ratio.
