We are planning a trip to Prague via Ramstein AFB (Space-A from the US) in October.

I've taken a look at booking on www.bahn.de. If I read things correctly, two seniors could travel from Landstuhl Banhoff, which appears to be the station nearest to Ramstein, to Prague for about 80 euro at today's prices. The trip appears to involve three trains and a bus for the last leg.

Enlighten me:
Do my conclusions look correct?

The low fare is for an advanced booking. What might the fares be if we waited until we arrive to book?

Is Landstuhl the best station to use after arriving at Ramstein?

Other travel advice would be appreciated.
