I've pulled the honeymoon string before in a similar situation (yes, it was a honeymoon trip!). It worked, they only had to release 1 seat. But, I had to go through Customer Relations, and it was a struggle all the way.....AAdvantage did NOT want to release the seat, even after Customer Relations asked them to (with all of us on a conference call), and only did so reluctantly at the prodding of CR.
