Scheduled to fly PHL-IAH-SMF on the early flight. Get the note at 2:30 am that the flight is delayed, and I'd miss my connection in IAH (and hence wait hours and hours).

CO rescheduled me standby on the 5:30 EWR-IAH (with a confirmed direct flight to SFO), and moved my inbound also to EWR (which is highly unusual!). I gladly took the exit row middle seat I was given (as they had been calling for volunteers). Five minutes later a wonderful FA tapped me and pointed me to 3B.
