I think there is a way for Aeroplan to figure out where you are. On those new orange Aeroplan cards, there is a BIN # before your Aeroplan # and a code # after. Canadian ones are 627421 and the code # is 9 (not sure if everyone in Canada has this #) but my friend who lives in Japan has a different bin #. So she sends me her card once in a while and I go to Esso.
