This would be helpful as some people are "brands" and prefer to post/interact with others via their brand, not their personal profile.

Then don't post on a fan page. Just because you dont want to use one, that doesn't mean that it's not needed/wanted by those of us that have brands and fans/followers. Some of us chose to keep those identities separate.
