I booked an award ticket to travel from EWR to XXX (domestic)

My sole mission for this trip was meet my (now ex) at the airport for a christmas gift exhange. (it's a long distance relationship), drop the gift and fly back to EWR same day. Distance to XXX is about 1600 miles.

Problem is - this was no ordinary travel day. Snow. Bad. And my flight original flight was cancelled.

I pleaded with the red coat - told him what I was doing. He went behind the computer, wrestled with it for about 5 minutes and spit out two confirmed boarding passes.^ One for the flight out and one for the fight back (same day). Bear in mind my original flight was cancelled.

Got on the plane. Met my (now ex) at the destination XXX. He got his gift. I got mine. We had our exhange. Flew back to EWR. All in one day.

It was amazing that I actually did this. It was a reallly bad snow day.
And a lot of people were stranded at EWR, from the day before.

I am not sure if Plat Elite or CO* (is that still around), but I it did help me out a lot.
