Okay, so this is an interesting thread. My follow up ? relates, but not entirely.
So I've got a Hot Deal fare to Chicago tomorrow, there are 4 seats available in 1st (but no U) and I checked in at T-24 hoping to snag one since I didn't automatically get it at T-72. The return I did, but there was still U space available.
So...
1) If I was on a fare other than a Hot Deal would I have a better chance at getting the upgrade during OLCI?
2) Do I have less of a chance of getting the upgrade from OLCI if I re-check in online now that I'm already checked in? Or at the kiosk at the airport? Or the Board Room?
3) At what time during the 24 hour period prior to takeoff would those additional seats be made available for upgrade or are they airport control now?
Thanks!
