I vividly remember flying LEX-SDF (and v.v.) on the 727 as well, being able to see I-64 most of the way.

The LEX-SDF was a tag-on to the LEX-SDF-DFW service and if you wanted to hop on for the LEX-SDF segment, it was only $40-$50. The tag on did come in handy, getting me from LEX to SDF during a snow when I-64 was closed due to a traffic wreck.
