Not my experience...
The few times I have transferred via CDG to Schengen flights, it has been an absolute nightware that makes US immigration seem pleasant by comparison. The last time was the last (I hope)... waiting in a line for 1.5 hours while for some reason an entire flight of Brazilians was permitted "fast entry" for some reason. And this all in a hot, very crowded and very poorly signed space with ceilings not much higher than 2m that clearly never was meant to be used for passport control. That was the worst experience, but all the other experiences have barely been much better. And the passport agents usually just glance at my passport and can't even muster the time to look at my face, so I don't understand why the long queues... like I said, US immigration seems charming by comparison.
I don't transfer much at AMS, but the two times I have in the past few years, passport control was a breeze. In fact, I rarely wait for passport control at AMS (but I'm probably just lucky but hey, that's my experience).
