No, I don't think it would alter a thing, as when Hotel Bora Bora was open, it only ever worked on certain levels. When Zecha took it over, they re-built the accommodation, so the beach villas and overwaters were very acceptable, but they never refurbished the entrance lobby and the restaurant, which harked back to the early 1970s. Service here was OK, but not as good as other Amans. Room service was virtually non-existent - just breakfast, if you wanted. Staff smiled, but were not exactly motivated. Food was average.

So no, even if HBB was still open, I would say that the Maldives is a much better option.
