Summer is indeed a more costly time because of US vacations, although it is not the high season in Bangkok. It fluctuates. Depending on the day chosen in June, it is as low as $1100.

OP should also check consolidators...may be able to beat the base AI offered fare. Also, the price may drop if the unrest continues...as it did last time.
