Actually, if AA makes any schedule change at all, even a few minutes, you are entitled to have your tickets refunded. It may take a little while to process the refund, but if you send them in you'll definitely get it.

Alternatively, I have been able to get easily have them refunded at a city ticket office, so you may want to try that option if there's one near you.
