yeah I think I'd rather go on OZ E- than a UA 747 E+, especially transpacific.
Of course the non-stop is preferable, but there are none available as the OP stated, but if you really gotta go, you cant just hope United will magically open up seats, gotta take whats available (ok except Air China maybe
