I don't currently have a citibank account and indeed, the guy I spoke to on the phone was clueless (insisted it was a credit card.) Whatever.

I called back and spoke to someone else slightly less clueless who said that this is an ONLINE-ONLY promotion and you need to open your account online and select the AA miles option to get this card.

So I did.

So we'll see...

FWIW I am currently collecting CO miles on my Chase card - I charge virtually EVERYTHING on that debit card; I truly dislike the idea of credit cards (except for renting cars of course ) and I would like to start earning miles on MY airline!!
