Clarification: The $100 is for same day, but I would suggest that unless loads are really heavy, you may be able to rebook a few days ahead for roughly the same as what you would be paying now for Latitude.
Using this option, perhaps you might get lucky and come out ahead even taken into account the change fee + fare difference + taxes than if you buy L now.

Another option may be to go to a consolidator (depending on route) and buy an open-ended ticket valid for a period of time (e.g. 1, 3, 6 months). This will give you the benefit of a lower fare + flexibility of return date.
