Wondering what happened to my Honors account?!
I hope this post is in the right place and the contents meet the rules. If not, I apologize. This is new to me, and I know I have a lot to learn. (Also, since my brain surgery and seizures, dates and my memory in general sucks.) With this in mind, I did try to be as accurate with the facts and dates as possible
My story started when one day I went to my HHonors account webpage and was going to make a reservation 3 months down the road for a summit at the Hilton Austin. I had my HHonors card for about 6 months, had used it once at a Doubletree (for a promo) and had tried to get the "Welcome Booklet" for the HHonors program, but I only received the card.
I noticed at this time that the stay at the Doubletree Hotel 5 months earlier was gone from my account/profile page. I could not find it anywhere; past stays, future stays, current reservations...everywhere. Not knowing the rules and regs, I gave up looking for it and emailed the HHonors program. I received a few emails that told me to call the nearest call center to me. I went ahead and made the reservation for the Hilton Austin.
I was and am fighting brain cancer so I was not 100% sure I was going to go to the summit, but I made the reservation using my HHonors number. I looked for any promos that I might qualify for like I found before my first Hilton stay at the Doubletree Hotel months before. The time was a week away and I had some questions about the points that I might be able to get.
I wrote an email to the same address I used before. I received an email with an answer after first stating that I should call the nearest call center (not their words, but I forgot exactly who they told me to call). I went to look o my HHonors account page and noticed that my points now were gone from the stay at the Doubletree Hotel, which was now about 1 year before. I figured they expired, but after requesting for the booklet that explains the rules and regulations of the HHonors program, I was not sure.
I received an email back telling me that there are ways to get points so that after a year goes by with no stays or purchases noted (I still am not sure what kind of purchases they require, but I assumed the stays meant a stay at one of the Hilton Hotels) I completed my stay at the Hilton Austin, spent $1500 and as of now my account is still there but it has nothing when any of the links are clicked (stays completed, future stays, current stays, past stays, etc.)
I should say that I did make a post here about my Doubletree problem, received a PM from a HHonors Rep, responded, but never received the call this person told me I would get. I emailed the customer service link that is on the HHonors page, explained my situation with my Hilton Austin stay and as of today I have not received any reply. Someone did tell me if they think the summit stay was paid for by another person or the company they will not give me any points. I thought well that is odd because they only had to see that I made the reservation on my HHonors account page, paid for it with my credit card with my name on it.
So, I know this is way too long, but anybody know how I can get current rules for this program and how I can try to get the points for the 5 night stay I recently completed in Austin.
I really appreciate any help anybody can give me. In closing, I thought Hilton Hotels were known for their plush, clean, and top-notch service? I saw very little of this at the Hilton Austin, but maybe it depends on something like the star ratings I have seen used for other hotels.
