I agree with you that I'm being cynical, but give me at least some credit (you wouldn't want to be cynical yourself ) I agreed that it was a nice gesture.

It's just that I would feel like a tape recorder was talking (or writing) to me. And that's how it feels at the end of a flight- it's someone just saying over their lines. And while it's nice that the airlines do it (much better than them saying "get lost" at the end of every flight) it's still not all that sincere. It's like when you get a form letter. Even if the content is the same as apersonal letter, it's still not personal.
