There is nothing illegal or wrong about solicitation regarding legal activities. If you are not wanted, the resident can ask you to leave, and at that point you would need to comply.

It is trivially easy in any big corporation for employees to look up employee addresses via the corporate Intranet. No foul play is necessary.
