As long as I am accruing miles at the promo rate, I will probably book a trip.
Adam, Do you recall, how long did it take between your oro qualification before you saw the upgrade certificates etc?
I saw the upgrades in my account in less than 2 weeks of qualification. Also because the miles are usually posted to your account before you get home from the airport, your earned upgrades appear quickly, too.
Instead of doing a mileage run, consider booking your trip with a connection in Medellin. Your segment from MDE-BOG should give you the last miles you need.
The elite card is another story. I just got mine last week for 2010. And the card expires at the end of the year as opposed to other airlines´ FF programs that expire in Feb of the following year.
