I see the animal as untrained and undisciplined rather than terrified, but in any case the "poor baby" that can't handle being left alone in a motel room should not be along for the trip. But try telling that to the owner. The perception gulf between pet lovers and pet-indifferent might be bigger than that between smokers and non-smokers!!
