Thanks iahcogold, that was my memory of the experience through LGW in the "good old days" (i.e., before CO served the dreaded LHR). I just wanted to verify if things had changed, since the UK seems to have become as paranoid as the US in a lot of respects.

I'm quite aware of the "ABZ curse" since in the past I recall that it really didn't matter how much time I had between connections, my bag didn't arrive at my hotel until around the midnight hour, when all mislaid bags seem to magically appear!
