Soneva Gili has without a doubt, the most incredible over water villas in the World. They are huge. The Japanese / Peruvian restaurant, Sense by the Sea is incredible. Soneva Fushi has it's own observatory set in the organic garden restaurant, Fresh in the Garden. These places are paradise and the resorts can arrange a direct seaplane transfer. So no stress for you.
Trust me!
Soneva Gili (near Malé) does have some very large over-waters and in-waters (no accommodation on land) but they are very, very rustic and bathrooms are all-outdoors so do not expect a refreshing, cooling shower. Food, generally, is pretty good and service, too.

Soneva Fushi, in Baa Atoll, reached via seaplane from Malé is a good experience if you like jungle and rustic accommodation - again with all-outdoor bathrooms, so lots of bugs and melting toiletries. Nice, big island with plenty of beach - you get around on bicycles.
