It should work for any husband/wife combination in either direction, meaning it should work if it is the designated credit card as approved for a wife, with a husband added as authorized user, and points deposited in the husband's MR account. The way to do it is for the authorized user card needs to be issued, and the MR account linkage completed, PRIOR to either the main card or the authorized user card being used for the first time, because either card would generate the bonus points, and other account benefits. The same would work in reverse, meaning a credit card account approved for a husband, with the wife added as authorized user, and points deposited in the wife's MR account.

It would be even better if each of you had your own Chase credit card account, with the other as an authorized user, though Chase might make you remove the opposite spouse as authorized user when each of you has your own account, but I would HOPE not, since that would defeat the plan as outlined above.
