AC420 April 8th

Was on this flight yesterday from YYZ via cnx from YSB

Flight was delayed due to late inbound arrival of a/c.20-30minutes(Gate 131IIRC)
Flight took on furthur delay due to smoke detector in cargo hold malfunctioning(was not sure whether sensor or detector) delay 15+ minutes
Problem found, cargo had to be removed to repair, furthur delay
Sensor fixed, now awaiting a crew to replace cargo as a busy time of day at YYZ(10-15 minutes)
Cargo loaded, awaiting crew to push back a/c
Push back from gate approx.2 hours behind schedule.
Taxi 1 minute, plane holds.Pilot comes on and there are now weather issues as thunderstorms have pooped up between Trenton and Ottawa. We would need to divert around these storms but do not have enough fuel on board and must head to gate 141 for more fuel.Wait at gate, short,as no ground crew.Pilot comes back on and tellls us that we now have developed a new mechanical issue and likely take too long to repair and that we would be required to deplane and re-board at gate 141 where there was another a/c
Time now approx.7:30 pm
We left YYZ at 8:20pm and arrived YUL at 9:20pm.^

I put the thumbs up and smiley for the following reasons:

The pilot was communicating constantly with pax and crew.We all knew what was going on.
Flight crew were extraordinary in their approach to situation(s) and professional. The incharge(all crew moved from one flight to the other with pax) asked how we were all doing tonight on 2nd a/c.The whole cabin chuckled to which she remarked,"nice to hear you all laughing".
The pilot took to the gate podium in terminal to explain answers to questions pax had for the delays. He was patient, professional and calm. The pax followed his lead.

Mrs.acysb87 also travelled with me yesterday. She remarked how well all this was done by staff to situations that were obviously out of staff control.

At the end of the day,we arrived, and we arrived safely.
