DALGUY is correct. I had a voucher expire and the airport ticket agent reissued the voucher for me less the admin fee.

I have a few hundred dollars in expired certs from the past few years. Most of it is for compensation when AA has screwed me. </font>
As for complaining bitterly -- that will get you nowhere and will probably piss off the person who is trying to help you.
Even though AA "screwed" you -- it made it up to you by giving you a voucher. It is not AA's fault that
you were not able to plan accordingly and use the voucher within a year.
