I don't agree with this, in fact STL is undergoing renovations currently. The entire main terminal ticketing/check-in area was recently renovated and has updated vendors.

In addition to the A checkpoint, the interior of A has been (and continues to be) renovated. The California Pizza Kitchen is gone, replace by a cafe. After the NW integration, Gate A5 was entirely closed and that gate area was built into a large, open Starbucks (replacing the cramped counter beyond A12). The former Starbucks location is being renovated for a new vendor, and I believe the plans call for Jodi Maroni's Sausage to be replaced by something more "mainstream."

The interior walls and carpet have also been renovated in the DL gate areas. As an STL originator, I must say it's a vast improvement over where the facilities were even a year ago.
