Hi all,

I'm a New Yorker, will be going to France in May, and need to have a rather large amount of euros (say 10,000 euros) for when I'm there. Traditionally, whenever I travel, I don't bother exchanging any money in advance, I just use the ATM in the foreign country b/c i know the interbank rates are better that way.

However, in this case, don't think i can do that b/c i need a large amount of money and i'm fairly sure i won't be allowed to take that amount out of an ATM! soooo - if I have to exchange money in NYC/NJ area, can anyone give me advice on where the best place would be? ie. where would I pay the least it terms of fees/surcharges and get the best FX rates?
