I wonder if meal quality is back on the rise again. I recently flew HKG-SIN-HKG in Y and both ways had an excellent main course (by any Economy class standards).

HKG-SIN: I had a pasta dish - it was vegetarian but made very well
SIN-HKG: Big beef cubes on mashed potatoes and vegetables (good sized portion and tasty)
