Thank you for your insights. You are correct - I have experienced numerous gate agent problems in Dallas, just have never commented on them here. Trust me, this was not the first time.

I suspect you may be correct re: BOS agent was probably busy meeting another flight, on the other hand, where was the supervisor? Asleep also? It's not like they didn't know the plane was arriving late?
It is hard for me to believe there is only 1 gate agent in BOS asigned to meet all flights?
Also, as I stated earlier, a simple "We apologize for the delay" would have been appropriate given 2 gate changes, jetway lineup (which further irritated everyone by the way) and no one there to meet the plane upon arrival.

I definitely agree with you - DFW is a very malfunctioning station. I mean, there were 4 gate agents working 1878 at DFW, and none of them thought it was necessary to check with flight crew to ensure cabin was ready for boarding. In this instance, its not like there was not enough help there.

PLATO - please don't take this the wrong way, i think you are being a bit too easy on BOS gate agent assigned to that flight.
