Definitely. He summed up the situation precisely. Unfortunatelty, given the realities of the Nat'l Labor Relations Act, there's not much AA, or any other U.S.-based carrier, can do about it. Not just in the airline industry, but elsewhere (e.g., teachers), the "party line" of Big Labor always seems to be that recognizing good performance and discouraging bad performance is a Bad Thing. I guess this attitude flows from the "Union Brotherhood" socialism roots of the labor movement.

I don't think I or anyone else said that all, or most, of the experienced FA's do a bad job. Some of us were just observing that a small number of them do just seem to "phone it in". Which is a shame, since it certainly contrastly sharply with the average FA and the typical AA employee, and in a perfect world, they would probably not have been able to be that long in the job in the first place.
