Thanks for posting this. I was doing it the old way, using the old google sync application on my pc, pushing my calendar and contacts to outlook, and then from outlook to my i* devices via itunes, which was a royal PITA, and the only reason I used outlook. This is much easier/simpler and gets itunes + outlook out of the path for me.

wharvey, can you use this method? If you can, it should solve your contacts/calendar/email sync problem for the short term, until apple admits/fixes their other problem.
