Well, depending on which side of the nature v. nurture debate you are on, all kids are born a clean slate and their behavior is largely dependent on their upbringing. It used to be that it took the whole UD to raise a child but with increased individualism people now no longer accept guidance from others and tell them to f-off. RAISE a child, not tut and shake heads in a patronising "If I'd had kids they would have turned out better" manner
By the way, the whole polarisation of the nature/nurture debate is so much crap. Upbringing can turn an angel into a demon. Likewise, some kids are just born to be hard work.
