WN's launched double bonus credits (think miles) for all flights systemwide.
Given UA's track record in the past of aggressively defending themselves against WN does anyone think we'll see a response from M+?

UA would most-likely respond by protecting their fortresses where Southwest competes, with low fares, primarily Denver, LA & LAS. Fares to ORD will continue to be depressed. CO will protect Houston, AA will protect DFW.
But the legacies already have some pretty aggressive fares for those cities in place, so I suspect this is more Southwest responding to the legacy carriers, not the other way around.
